So the term "Sharing" has surfaced over the last few years as a term to describe the act of posting works of intellectual property online, this term is far from the truth and misleading. Sharing is described as "
allowing someone to use or enjoy something that one possesses", key word being "allowing". As I am not allowing people to openly use my works, I have stated so on my profile and have disabled all social media functions on my images here on DA, sharing is a term used to mask what is really going happening on DA and other galleries. I've have come across several individuals on DA who have taken my works and have posted them on paid sites in Europe and South America. Mind you they had no intention to pay me for my work, they just stole my works from this site and were making profit from my labor and time, they were until i sued them that is.In the end what I want people to understand is that these images don't magically appear out of nothing, I have to hire a model(s), find a shooting location, spend my time/gas and of course time editing my images only to have my images taken from me by jerks. Sharing is a two way road, and as I only see that the people taking advantage of galleries like DA for one purpose, rarely do you see their galleries filled with original works to share with the world, the reason being is because they are here only to abuse the system and not contribute to it.
What people need to learn is that I am here not to "share" my works, but to "Exhibit" them much like the art galleries of old. Remember, my works cost me money to produce, I want to show them, not have them stolen.
Exhibit: to make (a painting, sculpture, etc.) available for people to see. Key word there is "see" folks, not steal.
